Interior update: center storage bin/ spare tire area.

I don't intend to carry the spare tire very much so this area will be used more as a trunk within the trunk to hide smaller objects when needed.

And another mod that I did when I was bored: white pin striping on the windows. It probably wont be long before I get sick of it, but what the heck, I kind of like it for now.

The real reason I "need" all this storage is for more practical reasons. I got sick of having the tool box and booster pack sliding all over the trunk and I never have more than one person in the back seat. Furthermore, one of my jobs is as a grounds keeper for a privately owned public facility so I have to have most of my own tools with me. I've accidentally left some tools there and I haven't seen them since so I don't trust leaving anything there when I can help it. I have to work out of my car so it's much better to have everything I need hidden away until I want it.

A second reason is I couldn't have a sub box taking up valuable space in the back so I kind of built everything around that. Plus, vacuuming leaves, twigs and dirt out of carpets isn't fun.

I KNEW IT!!

but seriously, i like the ingenuity of it all.
maybe install a shallow 10" under your seat and use more of the hatch for more storage.

if i had a zx3 svt, i would do the same, but i have a zx5, so the doors would look goofy with no seats.

I wish I had a zx5. It would make it so much easier to access the center compartment and back seat. I don't know what I would do with the sub though (except, of course, do what you said and put one under a seat or something).

The other night, one of my tinted fog light covers blow of so I made and installed a new set yesterday. When I bought the car, the foglights (and the whole front end for that matter) where heavily chipped by stones. In an attempt to clear up the fogs a little better, I sanded them down, clear coated them, and put on the tint. It looked great but it didn't take long for the clear coat to start peeling off bringing the tint with it. That brought me to yesterday where I was missing one and needed to replace the other side. I did everything basically the same except I used a headlight restoration kit to clear up the fog light instead of the clear coat. Hopefully they will last longer but time will tell.

What they looked like after the clear coat had peeled off.

All I used for the tint was a scrap piece of window tint (It was either 20% or 35%, I'm not sure) cut in a 4" diameter circle.

It took a lot of heat to get the tint to lay flat but here's the finished product.

Reassembled and installed.

And some more installed photos. You can also see how well my painted air dam is holding up. It hasn't held up so well to all the snow banks I have to push through.
