mesh vents

iv seen a lot of hoods with mesh vents. like where the hood scoop would be. not sure what they are really called. how do these do against rain?

Fine. Just expect to clean under the hood more.
Also, I would swap hoods in the winter.

do they do the same with getting air under the hood to a short ram like a hood scoop would do?

the hood scoop would do a better job at it but year it helps lower engine bay temps
