If you are looking for value....best bang for the buck.....go hotbits. Not too expensive...rebuildable for reasonable prices....and you can even upgrade them if you choose. See Doug at davenport.

I run the Hotbits on the 2002 SVT - super pleased with them. We get all our gear from Peter Reilly (2003 Canadian Rally Champion) http://www.hotbits.ca/

We did a complete rebuild about 3 events ago. Peter sent all the parts, bits, instructions, settings, recommendations, decals :) - flawless - those guys are absolutely spot on when it comes to customer service.

At IRNY 2011 we did crush a rear resevoir line, but a zip tie failed holding it, NOT the line - like the rear left SAG....LOL

Just got the parts from Peter to convert the rears from a STRUT/SPRING setup to Coilovers - super excited to run them.

Have a track day in APril at NHMS in prep for Rally New York Tarmac - and am actually going to play around with a firmer setting, lower perches, sway bars on. If that is not ideal - will swap in the tarmac springs - but even on a tarmac rally - will be bumpier than a proper track.

Simon - if you are following this thread -what are you going to run for New York?

hot bits are garbage they bend and are short travel! they are non inverted fronts
what more is there too say???? I have not had a happy subaru customer with
hot bits they bend and are so shot they have too be stiffer so your car cant dig.

hear is what I have done for the rear 10 inches of travel in the back it was on
hot bits before felt like i was going to lose my teeth when I was done it squatted
in corners and gave you a feeling of when the car was going to go out on you so
you could recover better and faster.

How Much ?

That looks like a sweeet setup.

How was the bounce on high speed rough roads? Meaning, did it track straight or did you find it tank slapped a bit if the rear got bouncy?

I suspect (and it looks) like you dont run sways obviously on gravel.

How much to build us two sets of those rears? 2002 SVT.

Thanks bud. Would be nice to find a cheaper alternative to AST/ProFlex/Ohlins

o gosh im super super slammed you can get the shocks from
http://www.eshocks.com/bil_ORvh.asp?...=All&SubChar=Q

you would have too call me and we can talk I don't want to make any money on this
stuff Id rather see someone make this stuff them self's its easy. If it was my car I would
get 5on 4.5 rear hubs from a dodge intrepid and make all the knuckles off that they are
huge and cheap and a popular rim. then if you ran mazda 3 fronts you can pass the
40mm strut threw and get another inch of travel for free.

I did a vw/svt disk brake conversion and hand brake for under 180 in new parts.
no photos it was an emergency job for a new customer the previous customer was spoiled
kid with no personality and the other is a focus perv that had bad luck and blew the head
:(.

What motor are you gonna use. Any chance you would want a ported and polished head if you are using a d tech
