Any input?
BTW-I REALLY like this car!
Only buy the Ford ESP warranty. That way you can go to any Ford dealer. I had ESP on my wife's 500 w CVT and she had a CVT tranny problem that was fixed (actually, they installed a re-manufactured tranny) for 200 deductible. ESP saved my arse. I know that the reman tranny plus labor plus rental car must have cost Ford about 5-6K.

I will evaluate ESP for the Focus over the next year or so. I watch pricing from Ziegler and www.FordWarrantys.com at Lombardi Ford.

I would suggest checking prices on the internet and buying based on the lowest price. If your dealer will match the internet price, fine.

Yes.
I didn't want to but the wifey wanted it so we got the Premium.
We also got the $595 Tire/Rim coverage.
I have the 18" rims and Living and commuting in NY/NJ this is a no brainer.

Considering our Ti is loaded, I wanted to make sure everything was covered.

If you decide the car is a turd and you don't plan on keeping it beyond 3 years, you saved yourself a lot of money.
I call my salesman a day prior to bringing the car in for service. He has a loaner waiting for me when I drop the car off.
If you buy an extended warranty through Ford and then get rid of the car, you do get a pro-rated refund. I bought one of the 5 yr/100 Warranties for the 2011 Fiesta I bought and traded for the Focus 5 months later. I got a check for the refund in like less than 2 weeks.

Pro-rated based on Ford's list price or what? Did you have to request the refund? If so, how?

I've always transferred the ESP in the past. It was always near expiration anyway. I was unaware of the possibility of a refund.

I bought one through my Credit Union. 7 years, 100K, $0 Deductibles, $1,542.30 Total. For a similar Ford Plan it was going to be around $2500. The only other car I purchased an extended warranty on was my 2001 F150 and it more than paid for it's self. For the Focus I am hoping more peace of mind but we never know do we?

$1150 for the 7/75K $0 deductible warranty. In 8 years, I only put 54K miles on my Element, so I'm hoping my driving habits don't change much.

I was told by my dealer that I could get the extended warranty later (2 - 3 years down the line) if I decided I need it. So to anyone that didn't buy an extended warranty and have since decided that it is needed, it's not too late, go back to your dealer and talk it over.
