Technical Service Bulletins. Remember that they are not recalls, but a recommend procedure of repairing vehicles. You should get that done. I am waiting until the end of January to get mine done. I do not remember off hand what site you go to to look at the manufacture date of you car. I will look it up and do a follow up reply.

I am off to bed! Maybe someone can give us the site where to look up the date of manufature since my amnesia kicked in! Remember, only cars built before 8/13 should get the TSB!

So does this TSB apply to other country as well, e.g: Australia, because I'm from Australia.

I'd ask my dealer. The TSB applied to ours was 11-10-02A. The car is shifting well - at higher rpms mind you. Gas mileage is about the same as it was before the TSB was applied. Our build date is 8-10-2012 according to etis and 8-9-2012 on the door sticker.

I suspect your Focus may be closer to the European than the North American version. If that's the case, I think your DCT may also be different than ours, having a wet as opposed to dry clutch and hydraulic vs. electric-powered gear changes. If that's true, the TSB we go on and on about here would have no relevance to you.

On the plus side, the Europe DCT seems to be the better component, with greater torque capacity (for diesels I guess) and fewer complaints.

If you're really curious, take a look at the Getrag website. They have photos of their transmissions - the North American Focus version is the fwd/transverse mounted one with the dry clutches and lowest torque capacity. It has some distinctive features you can see looking in the engine compartment so it should be possible to determine if this is the model you have.

Sooo Im actually at the dealership right now in the waiting room having the TSB applied and my USB went out. The guy who is working on my car( "Dave" like the guy already because it's my name) came in and said they finished everything up and are doing the drive cycle so and told me it will take awhile. So glad they are doing the Driving Cycle and they found the TSB! Ill post later tonight after driving it. I just could wait to post haha
