That looks like some thick metal. What gauge did you go with?

it is pretty thick. 18ga. used it for trans tunnel and back section both.

pulled the engine today to do the finish work on the subframe, trans tunnel, motor mounts, and engine bay. also installed the trans while its easy it get to lol





ps. yes i know i need to paint the poor sti's front bumper

i'm not 100% sure i know what you mean but i think you are talking about this..


you can see in this picture how i didnt stop where it bolts to the body like you did when you cut yours. i kept going cut all the way back and cut the body to. i had to redo the inner most bolt that bolts the subrame to the body and weld a nut inside like the factory was and then boxed it in


p.s. why in the world did you go with a drum brake rearend.

yeah that's it..... wow I didn't realize how small the tubing is. Sorry to bug again, just under pressure to get the stuff mounted in by next week which will not be easy.
