2012 Focus Sedan dual exhaust

Can someone help out? I read somewhere, maybe on FF, that a OEM muffler from a camaro or firebird would retrofit nicely onto the focus allowing a dual exhaust look. Is this so or am i imagining things?
I already have a single borla on my zx3 but dont want the added noise for the SEL so am interested in a quiet stock muffler. Thnx

I would not advise using a Camarro or Firebird muffler. I tried two of them and they were loud and did not have a good tone. I replaced them with a Borla which atually sounded more like stock but a little more throaty. I liked the Borla a lot but my wife objected. Actually I think you would object to any muffler other than stock. So I took the Borla off and put on the original stock muffler. I still have the Borla if you or anyone else would be intered in buying it at a good price.

Thanx caldree but i think ill stick with the oem muffler. Maybe ill cutnout the bumper n extend the tailpipe and put on a nice chrome twin tip Not dual but should look good

8500 miles on now and still loving the Borla setup. It's the best mod I have ever done to a brand new car.

Also for all those out there looking at doing this mod. Don't go cheap on the muffler get the Borla. It does make a difference.

Use the Borla and there is very little difference from stock. No droning.

Question for you all:
someone on this forum mentioned before that altering the back pressure will affect the engine performance/fuel mileage.
Can someone clarify this? will using an aftermarket muffler or an OEM muffler from another brand negatively affect the car's performance? thnx

A cat-back exhaust will not affect the cars fuel economy, if anything it'll improve it. A less restrictive (ie louder) exhaust will give a small boost in power, and the engine will have to work less to match the stock performance... unless the new exhaust makes the driver use the skinny pedal more because they enjoy the aural qualities of their modification.

thanks,, any opinions on voiding warranty for exhaust/engine related issues when installing aftermarket mufflers?
