Yes it's the platinum. Don't be fooled by the pic. I think it only looks so chrome in the pic because the camera is right on top of it. I hate chrome. I love the way this knob looks in the car.

I don't think you're going to see much difference in this pic. I guess it really has to be seen in person, which I'm sure you'll see soon enough. I'm on the same level of chrome hate as you, but I absolutely love the way this looks in the car. As you can see I've removed the boot from the nut and tucked the edge back inside as if it were in the stock retaining clip. I like this look better than with the boot going to the knob.

How do you reinstall the oem knob? How do you wedge the clip back onto the knob?

What is everyone doing with the end of the boot that goes up to the knob? The tutorial doesn't say and i don't want it just sitting loose on the rod. I have it zip tied for now.
