EXACTLY...this would definitely have been what we bought! My wife wanted a hatch, as she is always getting sales samples and literature out of the back for her clients...With the wagon, we could have had room for her materials AND room for groceries on the weekend...C'mon ford!

Ford also projected that 70% of Focus' would be sedans...I dont know the numbers, but I seem to see alot more hatchs on the road, and now on dealer lots...

My thoughts exactly. Some people just don't seem to get it. The argument between the two is not just about cargo space. To me, it's about being low to the ground. You can't drive (handle) your car the way you want if you're sitting that high off the ground. You can toss your car any way you want, but you can't do that in a stupid SUV-crossover, whateva you wanna call it.

Just look at my profile pic, that's my sleeper until Ford brings the Focus wagon. I let my friend drive my car while I had the Focus wagon for the week. He now wants one like mine. He never knew the V50 T5 had so much power. He apologized for driving my car the way he did on the A6 (Autobahn 6). I told him no worries, that's the way it's supposed to be driven... a sleeper indeed, lol.

I thought I saw a stat somewhere. I think the Fiesta sales were 60% hatchback, and the Focus was 45% hatchback. AKA way more popular than expected.

Would have bought the wagon in a heartbeat, as long as it had a cargo cover. My hatch is about half of the size of my Elantra GT hatchback, and I find myself running out of space quickly. The wagon would have been perfect.

I think they would sell very well in man parts of the US. In my neighborhood, about 40% of cars are hatchbacks. There are tons of Golfs, A4s, Mazda3 Hatches and Fits on the road. Of course lots of Priuses. And lots of Subarus mixed in.) There are plenty of small SUVs as well, but the hatchback cars are more popular.

I think the Ford Flexes are most popular in California. I loved it right off the bat when I saw one at a car show (not for my life stage) so I think Ford could definitely do a small run for California, and watch them take off like wildfire.

I'd have bought a wagon if it were available. Perfect for loading the dog and sports equipment while still retaining fuel economy and commutability. Now if only there were a diesel wagon . . . not called Jetta

I detest SUV's. Crossovers like the Ford Edge or Nissan Rogue are okay. I'm talking full size SUV's. Nissan Armada, Lexus LX & GX, Honda Pilot, etc. Barf. And SUV owners actually think they are driving something cool. How is an SUV any cooler than a minivan? Because they use more gas and cost more to fix? Lol. Used to be funny how when some people would ask what I drove and I said a stationwagon, they would kind of snicker. Probably thinking of something like Clark Griswolds wagon. Then they would see my Magnum and be like, nice car! I got more compliments on my Magnum than any other car I've owned so far.

Wagons CAN be cool.
