Anyway to Activate Additional Indicators

Bumping this thread - my 08' SE with Sync doesn't have the external temp or compass readings. Anyone found a solution?

my cousin just bought a 2011 Focus SE and those extra displays are activated in hers. think it was the compass on the left side and the EXT Temp on the right side. Just trying to fuel the hope and dream of one day being able to activate those.

That's weird, because I own a 2011 SE and my temperature display works, but the compass doesn't.

FORD IS MESSING WITH US!

I'd love to be able to mod my friend's 2009 SE so that the temperature display works for her. Keep the hope alive!

I have a 2010 SES with sync...dont know if it matters or not like said previously, but the sync microphones are on top of the mirror...i do not have the 6 disc in dash cd player...both my Temp and Compass work

Ive tried to activate these readings way way back in 09. Heres what i found out...

- You need the radio system from BUILD #2 which started after May of 09. If youd like ot know which cars are Build #2, these are the 09's that have the interior trunk release button and the rear dome light over the rear seats.

- The temp and compass module are seperate entities and you will need to get part numbers for them but they plug into the radio. You will have to hack up the standard pigtails to get this done.

- The wire for the temp module is in one of the sideview mirrors and some 08's have this wire already... VERY early built 08's have them (ones that were built in 07 when they first came out)

@smokymance, the 6 disc changer was discontinued once the 2010s were introduced and up until then, if you got the Audiophile system, it would take away the disc changer feature.

Em, im not sure i have the Audiophile system...as mine didnt come with a sub in the trunk...is that an indicator if you have it or not?

you have a 2010 so it was no longer offered with or without the audiophile system

I think it all matters if you have sync or not...and sirius, mine does have the outside temp display.

in my 2010 the temp works, but no compass. according to my factory wiring manual the temp sensor is located on the core support behind the grill. I can post wiring diagrams for anyone needing it for 2010's.
