I have a contact here that can get the stuff cheap. 200$ for the Hood, Roof and Trunk applied and installed. He said he will throw in the Door Pillars with whats left over.

if you can get the hood, roof, and trunk applied and installed including the price of the product you should jump on it... Thats a steal for you given that they are a reputable person doing the install and they know what they are doing.. for a regular black vinyl single hood stripe on my car a local shop was going to charge $100 installed for the stripe. i asked about the side stripes like you can buy on the ff homepage vendor and for the install and the stripes they were going to charge me 300! just for the door side stripes... that is with regular vinyl.. i imagine it would be substantially more from them to have it done with di noc

Just found out first hand. The 3M for the 2012 Pillars came in. Looks good but your right not by any means real cf look. It is nice and I still may get the 2001 wrapped just to do something different.

This is very true.. it looks good for a vinyl but if you want a real carbon fiber look you wont get it unless you are buying a cf hood and trunk lid...

Here is a straight comparison of the two: like ZX said above the 3m brand is more of a matte color which is not what i was wanting... focus boy has the legit 3m in pic one and i used the other in pic two... see the gloss difference compared side by side?

3M di-noc is a matte finish. Not glossy. Now the 3M 1080 cf12 is blacker and glossy. It is also supposedly the most durable and best one to use for cars. This is according to the email Metro Restyling sent me today in regards to ALL the cf look vinyl they sell.

I may email them again to see if they'll send me a sample of the 3M 1080cf12 and their M600 to see which one I like the look of best. If the 1080 is as they say "The most durable and realistic" cf vinyl they have then I'll get that. Measured roof and 84" will give me plenty plus a little extra. And at 60" wide i'll have a piece about 20"x84" left over to do mirrors, triangle corners outside, b pillars and some other interior pieces and engine compartment stuff. The 1080 in the 60"x84" runs $160 and the M600 would be $115. Not bad either way. Might get some to do the hood also.
