The only problems I'm seeing with the ACV kit are the following:

-Lost steering wheel controls (right control pad for stereo) only. Apparently the stalk interface that came with the kit did not work, according to memphis.
-Lost ability to easily change date on upper display. Not a big deal.

The following issues have been resolved in my mind.
-Hazard/lock button can be purchased and installed on the ACV kit. Ford part #1519127
-There are 2 harnesses - 1 for the stereo, and 1 for the hazard/lock button.
-Adapter harness comes with the ACV kit.

I am pretty much ready to order the ACV kit but I'd like to take apart my dash first to verify everything. And I need to find a good double din headunit.

Update: I've ordered the ACV kit, it will take a while to get here, but in the mean time, here are my plans.

I already have an 1800w amp and two 10" subs/box waiting to be installed.

Need to order
-double din headunit (pioneer)
-4 component speakers for doors (polk)

Once I receive the ACV kit, which may take a few weeks to arrive, I will test whether or not the hazard/doorlock switch works/fits. If it does, I am going to order the rest of the parts, and take everything to a local shop to have it installed, along with tint. I'll check back here with updates.

thank you. The kit was expensive, upwards of 300 bucks, just FYI. Comes with the harness, stalk adapter, etc, though. Well, hopefully it will be worth it.

Double din

Hello there, i am brand new member. This thread has been very helpful on deciding to buy the double din from the German eBay. I have also ordered the hazard and door lock switches. Double din has been installed but just waiting on that hazard switch which might take a while. Just one question, Would anyone have a wiring diagram for the focus or refer me to a specific website?

Update: My ACV kit will be delivered today. First hting I do when I get home from work will be to see if the hazard/door lock switch will fit and "lock" into place on the kit.

Will post pics.

The 'official' wiring diagram book from Ford is not out yet. Are you just looking for the radio harness wiring? Or something different?

ACV Kit arrived. Here are the pics.

Now time to order the headunit, some components speakers, and take everything to the shop and have them deal with the install. Will update in a couple of weeks when I have more goodies.

Yup there's a clip. Factory harness should clip right in.
