That looks great Memphis! In addition to the steering wheel controls being lost, is there any way for you to change the date on the upper display? I know the two buttons can change the time but im curious how changing the date would work...? If it would at all
I got the button off eBay from a UK vendor. It did take forever to arrive, about a month after I got it. Do you know if threres any harness behind the dash to connect that switch to? It looks like it would fit fine but im not sure how it would connect. If you need help finding the hazard switch I'll be glad to help you out. |

i figured if i needed to change the date i would adjust the time to 11:59 pm every time i needed to do that. but now that its of no use. i hardly pay attention to it anymore. yeah it will fit perfectly. in fact... the factory switches would work if they didnt have those clips in them. i was able to pull those out of the factory radio to size em up. and yeah i agree... it does match and look very good. better than i thought. ill figure out a way to splice the door lock and hazard switch to the back of that one you have when i can get my hands on one. ill probably order one directly from ford because i can get a good discount from the ford dealer i deliver to through my job. so hopefully it will be faster

So...I have the SE with the SYNC system. I do not want to give up SYNC , but I would love to throw in a sub. All I want to do is wire in a small sub and amp into the current system, and keep everything looking stock. Any suggestions? I cant bring myself to give up SYNC, let alone go back to the boxy old double DIN layout on such a fresh looking dash

well first off... the factory dash isnt really that "fresh". but that is your opinion and ill respect that but from what ive seen and heard you can just get someone or yourself to wire you one up. best buy or some other local installer. check out perzan auto in philly. youre close enough to it. but you can add a sub/amp to a factory radio with no problem

my budget also dictates that I do the wiring and demolition myself, but I have only done this with aftermarket stereos. Factory head units have no pre-amp outputs for the amp, however Google and some reading on Crutchfield provided to be very valuable. You can buy a Line-Out Converter that splices into front speaker wiring and converts the signal to RCA Outputs, and they can supply an amp to send output to all speakers, not just subs. Basically problem solved, and I would love nothing more than to spend an afternoon installing everything and posting a nice 'how-to' for anyone here that wants to do the same for the non-MFT foci. Now I just gotta figure out where to mount both, and where to fit a sub box...my god I can't believe I'm already planning to tear this thing apart! |

I'm in the same boat Jamin. Waiting for a dash kit, and interface that's less than $250. For now I just add a Belkin BT puck, and listening to Stern off my phone.
