Great Post
My 2008 is experiencing similar problems I have a squeak in the front end when going over bumps and with heaver bumps i can feel a metallic rub and along with the sound
the sound like a cheap bed spring and ride quality is bad it has been swaying and the front end has been vibration.
I have been to the dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong and since i have 56k on it would not been covered under warranty.
this week i plan to bring it to local specialist what I'm leaning is the upper strut mount/bearing
wonder if anybody else had similar issues .

I feel like I heard this same noise the other night. I spent about 20 minutes driving around and trying to listen to it. I was just a popping noise as I drove down the road, almost sounded like the exhaust constantly backfiring quietly. Then I noticed it would get louder as I would brake so I thought maybe it was the brakes. I then tried swerving and it kinda made it louder so then I thought the suspension. Finally I gave up and came home for the night. I haven't heard it since, nor did I ever hear it before. So maybe it was just the weather for me. :/ Thanks for finding this though! (Even though it was a year or two ago when you found it.) I am going to keep listening and take this to the dealer if I hear it again. Only got 32,500 on my 09 SE Coupe. :D

if its a TSB it should be covered regardless. thats why it is a service bulletin... my right side is still doing it but i have AM springs on there.. so i am up the creek without a paddle.

Yes I was out of the 36k warranty too so no free repair for me but it's no big deal. I never really noticed the clunk noise anyways

i still thought since it was one of their issues they would still fix it especially being a tsb where they know a problem is.

Nope, a TSB is not covered under warranty. It's only a "heads-up", not a recall. I read a post/thread which discussed a TSB. I believe it was whynotthinkwhynot who gave the description, who is a reputable source from what I have seen/read.
