waiting to see how high off the ground the new escape is ... if low enough will trade to it. What get's me is climbing a couple of feet up ...

if the escape is any higher doorstep than the Freestyle ... i'll keep the Freestyle and red candy we have. in other words if they keep the entry hight the same ... i'll pass. and someday get a red candy focus wagon ... with its ~4 cubic feet more cargo. that day will come ...

Perhaps the only way this wagon could be viable in n. america is to make it a hybrid.
That way it'd get super gas mileage as compared w/ the reg. gas version and have almost the same interior capacity as the escape while outpacing the escape's mileage.
That said, i don't think ford will bring it here as it'd cut into escape's sales and as our gas is still cheap as compared to the rest of the world americans aren't super interested in small high mileage cars (tho that's changing somewhat)
personally, i'd prefer a nice wagon like the focus wagon to the escape as i could use the room but don't want a xover or suv's bad handleing. I think a car like the focus wagon is a better choice for most people wanting a suv or xover. just my two cents.

Ok, I'm starting to get ticked off here. I value fuel mileage just as much as the next guy, but a hybrid. Come on guys, I'm tired of all the ranting about fuel economy. Ask for a diesel if it's so high on your list. Bring the Focus Wagon, optioned to Ti trim and a manual transmission. The C-Max and Escape isn't "like" anything. It's in a class by itself. People in Germany have a choice between the C-Max and wagon because they are not the same vehicle. I have driven the Grand C-MAx, you know, the one that got away. It is a wonderful car. It compares to the Mazda 5. The regular C-Max would be nice too, but it sits too high in the cabin for my tastes (so does the Grand C-Max) but that would be the wifes car. And besides, with the engine being a hybrid, it just wouldn't pull as well as a normal petrol engine.

I said it before, I know sales would suffer, but isn't customer service about making the customer (me) happy. Just build them to the customers needs and limited production, made to order. And yes, a Fusion/Mondeo wagon would be even better, but how long does Ford intend to make us wait for something we want now.

Sure I think that the Focus wagon should be sold in the US, but I am afraid no one is going to buy it.

I wish they'd bring the wagon, but the '13 Escape will probably be as close as we get. At least it's close. Agreed that the Grand C-Max could be a great addition, possibly in place of the Flex?

I have the hatchback... I think of that as a wagon. In the compact car class, that's what a wagon looks like to me.

Last car was a 2002 WRX wagon. Pretty much the same, dimensionally and shape-wise.
