How well does your Focus drive in snow?
The title says it all. Have you driven in snow yet? How did it go?

Good question
Used to driving an SUV with Snows. Lots of ground clearance. So I'm curious about that too!

Can't say for sure yet, since it only snowed for like 15 minutes yesterday; HOWEVER, I can say that I'm getting almost 5mpg better gas mileage with my 195/65/15 Nokian Hakkapeliitta R's. I'll keep you guys up-to-date, though.
My last car was an SUV with 4x4, but this is my first set of winter tires. Can't wait to compare! |

Our Focus replaces my wife's Honda Pilot. The kids are grown, so no need for an SUV. BUT, now that winter is approaching, we're wondering how the Focus will do in the snow.
Seriously considering four snow tires............... Michigan! |

Have a 2012 manual focus with all seasons.. A couple weeks ago it snowed pretty hard in Philly.. I went out for a while. The focus handled pretty well! I had no issues!

I highly recommend four snow tires. I purchased four 205/50/16 Michelin x-ice xi2
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....autoModClar=ST last fall, and mounted them on the stock ST rims. They replaced, for winter, the 17" Continental Contact DWS all season tires I used the prior winter. What a huge improvement in every regard! Snow traction, ice traction, braking, wet and dry traction and braking as well. The Michelins are not inexpensive, but, what is your insurance deductible, and what is your peace of mind worth, when your spouse is out in a snow/ice storm?? Matt @ TireRack.com can help you find the best tires for you. But do get them. Good luck. |

Not driven in snow yet. But I don't expect any difference than my last car = great ! As always, I did put on winter tires (General Altimax Artic - 215x50R17). I always used the same size for my both sets of tires (all seasons / summer and winter).

I live in Aspen. Snows quite a bit here. I've had my focus about a month now and have driven a few times in snow since then. I used to drive a Xterra. I still have the stock tires and wont be buying snow tires. I haven't had any problems driving in snow and I drive about 25 miles one way to work. I slow my speed down a little but so does everyone else on the road. I havn't had any problems except keeping my car clean. :)

My Focus HB w/General Altimax Winter tires seem to be handling the snow well. We've had a couple of snow storms pass through Denver this Fall.
