Here is how this should have gone.
Ford Customer Service : We again apologize for the inconvenience that you are experiencing. If you give me the information I am requesting we will provide a rental car until your BRAND NEW FORD FOCUS is repaired. ( It is the least we can do as for other customers we are giving them free maintenance for 5 years). We understand that Texas has a lemon law but since we do not acknowlege that there is an issue we will not take the car back.

We all know you are upset so was I .... let Natasha help you . plus I dont understand .... do you mean your dealership did not give you a courtesy car while yours is down? they gave my daughter a 2010 ford Fusion till her's was fixed.... all part of making things right... to tell you the truth she did not want to give up the Fusion whe her car was fixed.

You are correct, no courtesy car and I have not heard anything from Natasha saying that she could or would help me. Not once. It as if they were like the IT support from India goes. They read from a script and outside of that they really cannot help. Good customer service would be . ( I can help) which is not happening here. I get maybe I can help.

You are correct about the chill pill. But I wonder if this was happening to you and your families lives were in danger if you would still say that.

I did read that Natasha wants to help you Just give her a private msg with you vin... dealership and name... she is the only one that see's it... then she can and will help you. and I do feel your pain on that your family was endangered when driving it....... do you think My daughter was not endangered also when she drove it...... the steering totaly locked up on her. that is why I took the reins and handled this all for her...... thats what DAD's do... tell them you want a car...

Actually she said "As I said in my PM, I cannot guarantee the part will be expedited" No loaner, no rental. She just as good as said there is nothing they can do to help but knowing that they still want the information. WHY?
Logically, if they can not help then why do the want the info? All this for some nuts or the lack of? "For want of a Nail" proverb

If we cannot get the part expedited then I have no use for them and there is no way in heck that I will allow them to tag my vehicle in their database. Good luck trying to sell the car once that happens.

Ok, I'll bite agin. Just how can you help? What can you do? What is the process?

The process begins when the VIN is sent over. I escalate the case to the Customer Service Manager for your area, and we review all resources to see if the part can be expedited to your dealer.

Has anyone experienced this in a car that was built after the 8/1/11 TSB date? I have been driving another Focus that was built 10/11 and it seems to be experiencing the steering problem as discussed here.

Sometimes it is fine, and then I will be driving down a straight highway and it seems like I am constantly adjusting the steering wheel, and it has a "lump" at the center that you have to push through when you are doing small corrections on at highway speeds. It is very exhausting.

When I drive my original car, which was built last April (which didn't have the steering issue) I do not notice this. I drive the same sections of highway 5 days a week for 80 miles every day with both cars and there is something different with the newer car.
