Fun with PlastiDip!

Awesome stuff everyone, love the transformers stuff, I would do it but can't think of anywhere to put it that won't draw attention to itself.

Well after seeing this and thinking HMMM I could plasi-dip my side moldings and throw them back on the car instead of painting them. I can finally take that black electrical tape off the holes lol.

I think I may. I just wish they had a yellow that matched my car lol. I'd hate to go back to black side molding, but I also don't want to roll around much longer with electrical tape covering the holes, darn early model lol

after reading this post the other day i went out to a local O'reilys store (similar to autozone) and looked around. they had one can left on clearance for $3.50. i bought it a put racing stripes on my hood! :)

some recomendations i have is to spray on a test subject first so you know how the "paint" behaves. after finishing peel the masking off BEFORE it gets completely dry or it will pull off with the tape. and i would probably get 2 cans.

what i did was spray on about 3 coats, it covered completely and i used the whole can that i had. it turned out a little blotchy but looks great from a distance. from my experience i would say this is more of an experiemental procedure than it is permanate. now i know what the stripes will look like and i will either be adding more plasti dip in the future on going with a vinyl stripe for a glossier smoother look. i haven't decided which yet though. definately recomended though! it's like removable paint!

That may be, but if you have black plastic on the moldings and stuff then it matches. That's why I did it

^^right, it matches my handles and mirrors etc...looks just fine. A picture does not do it justice at all lol.

Yesterday I PlastiDip'd the chrome center caps on my black Motegi wheels, but only did the driver side ... lol

Love the all-black look now ... the chrome caps always bugged me since they're the only chrome on the whole car.

Will do the right-side ones by this weekend
