How'd you get the stencil off without peeling the plastidip with it?

Well I'll be the first to admit that my plan was slightly flawed when I went at it. Pretty much the only way you're going to be able to use the stencil is to hold it there with your hand, and then once you're done spraying and you're convinced it's dried enough that it won't run, pull the stencil right off.

My flaw, however, was that I didn't hold the stencil down hard enough, so it wasn't 100% flat in all places. So there is runoff on a few of the edges. Overall it looks alright, but I'm definitely going to have to redo it when I get a chance.

So to directly answer your question, you have to pull the stencil off almost immediately after you're done spraying, otherwise the paint will dry enough that you'll tear the edges and the lines won't be clean.

I am pretty sure you can buy sticky-backed stencil material from a craft store. Also, A huge autobot insignia on a 45 degree angle on the hood might look pretty boss.

Yeah, that would probably be a much better solution. I used really thick poster board to make mine. Do you think the sticky-backed material is reusable?
