So I guy I work with bought a K&N Apollo CAI for his car but did not use the included duct pipe and air horn so he gave it to me. Works great so far. All I need is a ram air sticker.

Hey everyone,

Just ordered a roll of this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HE7YQM

Its a similar material to what was used by the resonator that we took out. I'm going to use it to help seal up the hole and prevent hot engine air from getting in. All of this will be done when I get an un-mutilated hose in from Amazon that is currently back ordered.

Outerwears Pre-Filter a Regular Product Now!!!

Hey Everyone,

First off, my new hose comes in today I should have everything done by noon tomorrow so I can finally get to work on a custom scoop.

Secondly, I called Outerwears to order a prefilter (the bugs in my pleats were driving me crazy) and they said since this was the 3rd one that has been ordered that it would be a regular product from them and the custom fee is waived.

If you call to order before they put it on thier site the part number is 100-3401.

AWESOME!!!

That is actually the part number they had stuck to both of my filter packages. lol Very cool! They make a great product! And you will see how important one is the first time you go to clean your filter. lol

Can't wait to see some results on your mod!

Finished installing the new hose with some weather stripping to make the seal better. I also got some RTV gasket maker and am debating sealing up those 2 holes on the front en of the air box, but not in the immediate term.

After doing the mod right, the sound has gotten much better. Not boisterous, just clean and very high-end-performance sounding (if that makes any sense).

I haven't done any commuting yet with the latest work so I will let everyone know on Monday how that works out.

Here is how I did my grill, it has progressively smaller holes from the bottom to the top. It didn't come out perfect, but is good enough unless you get right up next to it.

I like it, what if you put a fine black mesh there? I guess in the triangle that you guys put holes in cut out good sized squares or slits along those openings and hot glue or super glue the mesh to the back? Should add more air and if the mesh is fine enough should almost look stock. If I do this mod I will post pics.

Ok guys, I just pulled my airbox and I have an active shutter ram air! I wasn't aware I had this and I've decided that this additional ram air has some merit but I'm not sure it's worth the investment or time. At first I was just digging into it to remove the resonator and realized how closed the active ram air system is already. If I would have removed the resonator it would definitely decrease performance and increase sound. So, I've decided to order some parts and put in this custom ram air system. I did this on two other cars with great success but neither of them had factory ram air already (96 mustang v6 & 00 Civic Si).
