Ya i really hate the OEM key...its big and sometimes i have problems with it locking(doesnt always lock on the first try)...and switchblades are always nice to have.

How close does the transponder part need to be near the ignition switch to work? Could you just get a blank key and leave the transponder inside the glove box to go back to old school style keys?

Just asking, I do not like the idea of all the scratches near the door lock from missing the keyhole in the dark!

Well, isn't "mykey" the push-button start? I would think this would not work for that...

On a side note, I have been trying to find someone that can do the cut for when I get my new car, and locksmiths seem to want anything from $30-$75 just to cut the damn thing. I need to find a place to do it. The Volvo's I called said that they won't cut it, but Ford would. So I am going to try contacting a few ford dealers, even though someone said they don't think the dealers have the machine

I think you are confusing My Key with Intelligent Access. My Key is when you set speed limits and volume limits on specific keys they you then give to your kid (or possibly spouse? or self? haha)

IA is the push-button start.

I thought the push-button start was required for the my key features? I thought that was one of the "exclusives" of the push button start?

While I have a Ti so I can't say for sure, I'm 99% sure it's available with the lower trims. I've heard stories of people picking up Ford rental cars and not being able to go over a certain speed limit and rental cars are never the top trim level.

Nope. In fact, I don't believe the IA can use the MyKey features as you're required to put the key into the ignition to set the limits. Well, if we don't have keyhole ignition/key - how can it program it..?

I also bought the same key from Ebay. I'm wondering how you guys were able to program the buttons on the remote. I was able to program the transponder key to start the car with the instructions here but not the buttons with the instructions given with the key (four turns from off to on and hold on the 4th on). I even tried driving for a bit and not opening the doors prior to following the instructions. Can those of you who made it work let me know how you programmed it? Thanks.
