To answer your question, no the tpms light being on does not disable the Dic. It will popup and say that there is a tire pressure monitor fault. Just hit reset and it will clear that message and the display will be back to normal.

Drive around with your tpms light on and if u get into an accident and they see that on. That can cause you to be at fault

Its a Federal Safety Requirement, so I don't see it not being in all states.

Yes the light is on all the time,

I have an S so no DIC,

if they wanna complain that the light is on then they need to go back to either the dealer that I got it from or one of the dealers/places that fixed it before, because they used a big zip-tie to secure the sensor, not the Ford metal bands. And the zip-tie failed and destroyed the sensor and I didnt wanna fork 150 for a new sensor and band, so I took them all out. I might get the newer sten versions later on.

I'm not going to doubt your knowledge on the subject, but to me that sounds a little ridiculous. First, the light on the dash indicates three possible issues, 1: a tire is below 25psi 2: there is a sensor fault 3: there is a fault with the TP monitor. The first one is slightly plausible, as law enforcement would need to prove that a low tire caused the accident, not to mention if a tire is damaged in the collision then the tpms light would be on by the time police arrive. For the second and third scenarios it is essentially the same as a check engine light. Also for 2 and 3, my knowledge on the laws about tpms govern that all vehicles after 07 model year must be manufacturer equipped with a tpm system. It IS illegal if you were to defeat the system (bypass, disable, remove it) but to drive around with the light on is not illegal.

Also note that I've been told the 10-11 TPMS sensors don't work on the 08-09. No one can say either way, however. They both operate at the same frequency (315 MHz), but may not be compatible.

All I know is I didn't want to pay a ton extra to equip my new rims with the bands so, I can deal with the light.
