I am in the process of either proving/disproving theories or just really confusing my Focus, but I am trying to find an ethanol-free gas source closer to me than Cresson to see if the ethanol does affect things as much as some claim. So far I have run two tanks of regular E-10, and two of Mid-Grade E-10, still gotta to run two tanks of Premium E-10 through her and then start the process with ethanol-free equivalents and then once all the numbers are in I'll stick with the most efficient gas for as long as I can (until the gov't screws it up)... Does anybody have a clue where I can buy ethanol-free gas in Fort Worth, Burleson, or Crowley? I also need to know this so I know where to run for gas for my classic car and the ol' lawnmower too before the ethanol starts taking it's toll on all that old metal... Thanks in advance for your help folks.

FWIW, we have had nothing but E10 since the 90's.
My 68 Barracuda, lawn mower, snow blower, chain saw, weed whacker and my new cars run just fine on it. |

Not sure if it us up to date
http://pure-gas.org/index.jsp?stateprov=TX Seems there is one listed in Cresson, otherwise looks like Dublin is the next closest place.

I'd seen that Pure-Gas site, but was wondering if someone had missed one here in Fort Worth since there's aren't many listed in full blown cities and mostly just in suburbs and small towns... And I know cars run just fine on it, but it's my understanding it attracts moisture and is therefore not as classic car/lawnmower friendly and that it apparently also has a slight negative effect on mileage... Which is why I was hoping to include it in my testing...

Ethanol does attract moisture even while in the tank and gas can. For cars it's not a real problem as it doesn't just sit there in the tank for long periods. We're constantly driving and put new gas in. For mowers and weedeaters it's a diff story as the gas sits. It also attacks the rubber seals and fuels lines which are not the same grade as what's used in cars. For you lawn gear you can get ethanol sheild to mix in your gas at your local Home Depot.

Forgot to mention they also sell Trufuel in a metal can that is 100% pure gas.

What about the E-10 sitting in the gas tank of my Galaxie which is lucky if it gets driven once or twice a month now that it's summer in Texas and it's not my daily driver? Isn't that going to create the same situation as with the lawn stuff? Would Stabil help reduce the chances of it causing premature wear? I just hate to think I'm potentially hurting not only the lifespan, but value of the old Gal...

Stabil will help. Since you don't drive it that often you should keep less fuel in the tank if you aren't already. That way you will cycle through it more frequently keeping the gas fresher.

I saw an Ethanol free station in Panama City, FL on my vacation. I nearly crapped my pants! Doesn't help in this situation but I just would like people to know that they DO exist! I always thought of them to be more like the boogie man.
