Isn't FL law
Front Side Windows Must allow more than 28% of light in. Back Side Windows Must allow more than 15% of light in. Rear Window Must allow more than 15% of light in.? Can you see out the rear window at night when backing up? |

I believe so, but I went in the increments the place I took my vehicle to offered. Can I see at night? Yes. If I'm in a particularly barren area (no trees, shrubs, lights, etc) and all I have are the reverse lights, no. But I attribute that to the lights rather than the tint.

Thanks for that! I found two particular places near me that seem favorable. Been in business a while and their galleries look very nice. One does Solar Gard, the other does Llumar. I need to go over and get some quotes from each now. I'm not as much concerned with how dark the tint is as much as I'm concerned with protecting the interior. :)

FWIW, all of the films block 99%+ of UV rays. I honestly don't quite get how they distinguish themselves from each other except for the color of the film and whether metal or ceramic is used to effect heat and glare rejection. I've had basic charcoal film on my last three cars, and the color has been perfectly stable and the heat rejection superb. Some people laud the Hüper Optik ceramic films, but I think most of that is marketing hype. I think the technology is so mature that all of the film manufacturers have nearly identical products.

Bought my Focus about 3 weeks ago. First thing I wanna do is the tint. It just sucks cause I'm in Ohio and the legal limit you can do here is 50% on the drivers side and passengers any rear windows are fair game.

I've got an appointment for Saturday. 25% front, 15% everywhere else. Here's my question... what do you think of putting on the eyebrow? Is the eyebrow an 1980's thing? I hate the way the windshield is only shaded around the rearview cluster.

I would pass on the eyebrow and tint the entire windshield instead. I got Llumar Air (80% VLT but blocks 45% of heat) applied to the whole windshield. I love it!! It has a very slight blue tint to it, but is otherwise unnoticeable visually. I got my guy to tint up to the edges around the shaded portion and the rain sensor in the middle (so I can put my toll pass on the shaded portion instead of sticking it to the window film). I paid $120 for that plus $309 for the remaining windows to be done with 30% Llumar CTX (Ceramic) film. It looks awesome!
