I tried to order them when I placed my order with the commercial/fleet salesperson (credit union car buying service contact at dealer), and he said it had to be ordered under a fleet contract and have a fleet ID no. entered with the order. I wonder if Sayer's car was ordered as a fleet vehicle and then sold as normal inventory when a fleet buyer changed its mind. Who knows? Just kooky that they obviously can add it to any car but don't. Also wonder why they didn't offer the HID's and LED DRL's as an option. I would happily have paid $500...maybe $1,000 for those if they had been offered. Oh well.
Again, if anyone gets a wiring diagram and can determine if it's just a matter of popping in a relay somewhere, please let us know. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() about their own cars and they'll just tell you whatever pops into their head that they think sounds good under the assumption that customers don't know crap. Ironically, customers often know more about the car than the salesman does. I've actually heard of a salesman on a Jeep lot who was looking under the dash of a Jeep Wrangler for the hood release. In the Focus the lights are activated by a rotating knob that has three positions. Position 1 is amber running lights (parking lights). Postion 2 turns on the head lamps and position 3 is daytime running lamps. If you have fog lights they are activated by small button next to the headlamp knob. ![]() You can see the headlamp knob in the lower left of the dash. It has four lighted positions. Off, parking lights, headlamps and finally daytime running lamps. It's factory. |

The fourth position is Autolamp...not DRL, but they would come on in daylight whenever the switch is in that position or in the first position (off).

I concur. There are 3 positions: Parking lamps, headlights on, and auto headlights.
Can't help with a factory solution, but here's what I did: ![]() Philips LED DRLs. They automatically come on when you start the car, and you can wire them to stay on or shut off when you turn the headlights on. They look much more impressive in person...very bright, white, crisp light. Looks identical to Audi, Mercedes, etc. Tony |
