Not to take away from Tim's thunder too much, but yes, I have to have throttle control in 2nd gear. Jeff recommends Hankook Ventus RS-3. Little more than gForces.

Tim, maybe you should look into RS-3s for your next tire

Yes, I typred out a lengthy response, but didn't want to thread jack so I put it over here: Choosing a tire size

blasphemy..... my last car that i absolutely loved was my '02 ws6. i do enjoy my svt, but i'd rather have a svt cobra than the focus i have now.

i can dig the tire size. my ws6 had the same tire size.

oh and me and the guy that lives wit me and my wife are very interested in this. we've both had numerous projects (and current ones, a 91 talon tsi awd and a 92 civic dx), but you're doing an amazing job and very thorough job. we approve and support you.

p.s. all the guys at work (which we're Vehicle Maintenance in the USAF) would also support this idea.

keep it up brotha,

I saw a "rally edition" festiva the other day... Is that a real thing?

Btw I think the pics are down (maybe not) but was the front subframe all that bad to build?

I've just spent the last two days (on & off) reading this long ass thread and I gotta say, very nice work, big props to you man, I'll be keeping an eye on this thread to see this beast completed

One question though, I read how you decided to use Mazda 3 spindles, was that only for the bigger brakes? Or was there advantages with the steering part of the spindles?
