Posted via FF Mobile I was under the impression that x plan got you dealer invoice or LESS both those prices are substantial higher then the invoice. And if a lit of the time you can get cars at invoice WITHOUT x plan, what is the point of the plan? Seems like a waste of even mentioning it to the dealer. |

I'd be happy to e-mail you the invoice so you can see how they compare to the actual invoice price you have. The big savings here is not paying D & H which can be seen up to $799.

Posted via FF Mobile So the invoices that kbb, edmunds etc are wrong? But yes Id love the invoices. Im just trying to go in with as much info to the dealer as possible so I can be the one giving surprises instead of the other way around. I also want to make sure my parents get the best deal possible down to the last possible dollar the dealer can take off. |

KBB and Edmunds.com are incorrect in their invoice prices because they don't account for regional advertising or fuel charges. Shoot me your e-mail and I'll give you an example of what you're looking for. Also if you're X-Plan they are required to show you the invoice.

imccrea, that's just not true. kbb and edmunds.com account for both of those things. KBB and Edmunds true market value numbers both account for regional variances and pricing. Keep in mind that I can handle you omitting certain key details because you're offering help on the boards, but I won't tolerate you being intentionally misleading. Sorry.
Secondly, I also can't believe you ADVERTISE openly that you've chosen a Jeep. If I was selling vehicles, I'd at least leave that one blank if I chose a competitor.

Question regarding Sams club if I join Sams can I take that to any dealer or are there specific dealers that handle them?

No where on either site does it say it includes advertising or fuel charges. If you price a Focus online and compare it to an actual invoice they are exactly apart by those 2 figures on edmunds.com. It's fine if you don't believe me, but I can prove this and you unfortunately cannot based on what you've stated. Unless of course you have invoices from a Ford dealership to prove otherwise?
However you are right about one thing, they account for actual TMV price differences for regions. For example a Mustang in Vail, Co will have a much higher price reduction that one in San Diego. And just because I don't drive a 2012 Focus doesn't mean I can't be trusted for pricing, that really has nothing to do with it I'm sorry you feel that way. Quote:

Specific dealerships do. They pay $X amount a month to get leads from Sam's. You can just tell a floor sales guy that you are Sam's club, 90% of the time they won't ask to see your card if you aren't a member. Just sayin.

Other fees such as inflated doc fees or other fees made up by the dealer to acquire pure profit are not listed as well. These fees are almost guaranteed by dealers offering too good to be true pricing. Another example is I got my Focus for $835 below invoice, but they added in $898 in fees. So basically, in the end it was $63 over invoice + that mandatory regional ad fee. I have a question for imccrea. I know x-plan does not entirely do away with doc fees but only limits it to, I think, $125. But, does it do anything about the regional ad fees? My understanding was x-plan was more for those who didn't like to haggle, but it certainly wasn't going to get you the best deal. Also that dealers receive a subsidy from Ford when customers use x-plan, so they LOVE it, as thery're still practically selling the car for MSRP. |

Thank you mysticblue and sorry I missed that question. It does limit the fee to $75 here. It does not change the regional fees unfortunately as stated below, it's already on the invoice.
X-Plan does give us a kickback on deals, however it is not much. On a base Focus it amounts to $17.72. Now if it's A/Z/D plan it's closer to $1,000 & on F-150's or Super Duties closer to $3,000. Quote:
