Sobe's turbo zetec
first off i drive a escort zx2 which isnt a focus but its still a zetec. i am here for the boosted zetec scene, help and parts. when i bought it the guy said it was making 180 at the wheels. i dont know much on the engine but the manifold and down pipe is DIY, turbo is a k24 and i run sct prp w/ 63# siemen dekas MSD DIS-2 with boost retard. Major mods to come in the near future.
tial wastegate, HKS SSQV, 2.5 IC piping, FMIC, draw through as well (will be breaking up in multiple posts for simple reading) 1st: when i first bought it 2nd: worked on a little 3rd: almost all out w/ wire tuck ![]() ![]()

well, i think its safe to say you won't reach full boost till 6k rpm in 5th! lol thats a massive turbo!

Cool build, man. All Zetecs are welcome. I appreciate that you cleaned up that lame ass color scheme.
Also, you will reach spool sooner than 6k...it's a GT35...Jim is hitting full boost @ 4k rpm. Yes, he has ball bearing, but you should be close. Maybe 4500. If you can rev past 7k, you will have a decent power band. I recommend the Top Speed race intake manifold. Go to www.topspeedparts.com. Waaay better than SVT or FRIM. Other than that, you've got the right idea

its dis-2 so i can do 2/3 step with launch control. i build about 2 psi boost at 2500 rpm sitting still currently.
Edit: the msd came with a zetec engine, turbo setup, and some other goodies i got a great deal on. it was all wired up for a zx2 so all i did was plug it in. |

I have the programmable dis-2 6212, what a pain in the ass it has been. After I let the car set for awhile (I dont drive it much) the POS resets itself and removes 24 degrees of timing....AND to top it off, I usaully dont notice it til I'm 3 miles away from the house and into 10+ psi
I've address the issue with MSD and am working on a resolution and/or a RMA/refund. |

Yea Dont go with a SVT IM because it will be more problems than what it's worth. You have gaskets inside (intake runner manifold gaskets) and I promise you that they will come out under boost and you will lose an engine.
