isn't a header w/ stock exhaust pretty pointless? the exhaust is so restrictive the header is going to be JUST for noise until the exhaust is opened up for the motor to breathe more?

The exhaust is so hot, coming out the port, thats where is there is a lot of flow w/ heat, compared to the tip. One of the reasons to see exhaust headers wrapped is keep the heat in, to get the exhaust flowing. I would like to get a header. I just don't know about the emissions issue. My car has 3 obd2 sensors, on the manifold. I know the 1st one measures the exhaust flow for the mass air sensor. I think the other 2 are checking the converter. I would try to run a converter after the flex pipe, but the exhaust gas would be cooler, when it got to that point, when cold. Someone else can chime in on this, that knows about the emission scene.I just don't want to change out something, after some work. Heck Focuswerks is having you to say, their header is not for street, to get them off the hook. So that says someone might have a issue w/ emissions. I use to live in Calif. where the emissions started in the early '70's!

^^pretty sure most people w/a header or other aftermarket parts either don't care about emissions and have a way to 'pass' them elsewhere, or they'll change out their stuff for the stock parts during checks.

i cant see how my exhaust is going to be very restrictive i only have a resonator no muffler or cat it screams but not loud enough :)
and here in edmonton whats emissions?

The most restrictive part of any exhaust is the cat. Remove it/them and the rest is comparatively fine tuning. You may also look at it the other way. Mounting a header with a trailing cat, gain would be effectively zero, as any potential gains from the header would be negated by the cat. Hence, the only reason for folks that need to meet emissions may want to purchase a header would be economic, as the stock mani-cat retails for ~1400.00.

Is there a header setup that is as quiet as stock?

When my brother had a honda i remember him telling me about fake cats. It was a cat case or somthing but it was stripped of all the stuff in it. It was just a pass threw.

Would be cool to have somthing like that but it be a magna flow muffler insted lol

My first inspection on this car all they did was turn the key to get the milage and that was it. They didnt even put an inspection sticker on the window which i was kinda shocked about.

? im in WV don't have to meet emissions if i go with race header and full exhaust what will the car say when it no longer reads o2/exhaust temp will it freak out throw codes is there senser delete or something like that .
