Cobalt because it will genuinely be high performance and have a 2.0T
MS3 because of the size and shape, 6 speed manual, etc...
GTI because it should be very nice quality and more refined than the Chevy or Mazda

It can/should be able to accomodate potential buyers of all kinds of hot performance compact.
I have to agree with your description there. Do you think the ST would be worth the cost though? Theyre saying it will be up to $28,000. I could get a V-8 Mustang with that and be fast N/A without mods.

Yeah according to Car and Driver April 2011 edition, they are putting the ST at 247 HP and 260 Torque and at a price of $27,000 available November of 2011

Posted via FF Mobile Well if we comparing sticker prices the mustang will cost you a few thousand more then 28k. And we still dont know if this is how much the ST will be. C&Ds estimate is probably nothing more then thinking it will cost more then the pricest titanium which may not be the case. I have no doubts there will be an ST that costs 28k, but i think that will be one optioned out with tons of tech. A base ST im still saying will be just below 25k. If you add myford touch, leather/recaros, sunroof, possibly optional wheels, the STs price will climb. But a base should be nicely equipped around 24k. The ST still has to be competative with other hot hatches like the gti, ms3 and others that are across the pond...not start at their highest price. Regardless of how expensive people think the 2012s are, they really are competatively priced against he competition if you actually take your time and look at them. You can get a civic for over 25k, and it has far less options then the focus titanium.

Yeah, that is true! If I'm going to get a new ST of course I want the Recaro's, MyFordTouch, and all the options.

I would wager the ST will weigh in less than the Colbalt SS.... The LT that I own is almost 3K lbs. Its like 2.9K and change....

IMO the colbalt lacks everywhere but the powertrain.... even if it can be faster than the ST, I bet more ear to ear grining would be had in the ST.

and all bets are off to what will be faster when the aftermarket will get a hold of the ST...

Its a global car, and the even more redily available 2.0L will be in everything from small cars to trucks... with the economy of scale that will generate it will be hard not to find upgrades. That and the fact that its nearly the same as the outgoing duratec just a different head and some other cool goodies.

I also wish for a 5 speed in the ST as well... but meh... if they make it stronger than the getrags in the past I can live. MTX-75 FTMFW.

Also, with ford putting out the focus as some sort of front runner for the new era they will without a doubt offer way more Ford Racing Parts for the focus than they have in the past.... OEM racing parts which are often 50 state legal are more than worth the price for admission....
