I know there has been some recent threads about this intake and as a happy customer of this product I figured I would post up some vids that help you hear it in action.
I made this particular video clip to let people hear how the Steeda sounds on a 2.3L.... I have no other mods than the Intake so if you are just starting to mod your car and want to hear how it sounds, here you go! 1st vid is a slow roll to 20mph in 1st and then floored it at 4k and granny shifted into second. Of course it sounds alot deeper in person... maybe if you have a sub you can hear some of what I'm talking about... of course viewing in HQ helps as well... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEf4qCDMPxk Quick launch thru 1st... rolled up to 20mph in 1st and then floored it at 4k and granny shifted into second. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71dLKNLmGss Couple rev's letting you hear the intake with the hood open. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDUdBkqiq4o Hope that helps somebody in their quest for an intake for their 2.0L/2.3L duratec. |

Does steeda offer a cold air intake for the 2.3? I just bought a 2006 ST and want to put an intake on, not sure if i want a cold air or short ram. Also which is better K&N or steeda?

What else you got for mod's? Your hitting 7k RPM on just a intake?

Technically, it's a Short Ram Intake (it doesn't scope down a couple feet like a CAI). And I JUST did the same mod to my ST and I was thinking to myself how very little it altered the sound of the car. I guess that's good, because I KNOW that the header I plan on getting, even coupled with a stealth exhaust, is gonna make the car louder, lol.
Nice launch squealie, BTW. I'm guessing you don't have a sport tire, though, or else it would probably hook up a little sooner. My car was sold to me with some BFG something or others. They were low profile and man, did they hook up nicely and held corners really well. But I had to ditch 'em with about 50% treadlife when I found out how they struggled in bad weather. Now I run Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S (supposedly a high performance A/S) in the warm weather. They're great in the bad weather, but they don't hook up as quickly as the BFGs did, that's for sure. |

Off topic... but it took almost 2 years for someone to finally reply to this thread.
