I think I found who the internet tough guy is. Here, I'll try to help you out. First, I'm used to typing rwhp I use rwhp all the time since all I've owned are mustangs. Second, I never said I was trying for 9s. I said there are guys in the 9s N/A using stock STROKE, but obviously not stock internals or block. Go back read what I actually said instead of skipping through it. There are enough people in the 10s N/A with a stock shortblock THIS MEANING stock block, internals, stroke. It really isn't that hard when you know what you are doing. My junk even runs high 12s on the primaries.

Third, I said bolt-ons, this immediately makes me wonder if you know cars at all. Bolt-ons refers to, exhaust, tune, timing change, UDPs, aluminum DS and an electric fan. Changing intakes, heads, RRs or anything else does count as bolt-ons. So with all those parts listed there you will get roughly 240-250hp flywheel or 200-210rwhp. Closer to 200rwhp though.

The 1987-1988 speed density coupes were very fast. My 1988 is a no option coupe, weighs 3000lbs with 5/8 tank gas. I have been 12.90's with 3.73 gears, Hoosier quicktime pros, underdrive pulleys, 16 deg initial timing, 15/8 short headers and full 2.5 exhaust. Now the heavier GT's are a few tenths slower. It all goes back to the driver and how well the car works. The slowest of all the fox mustangs was the heavy convertable GT with the AOD, they ran 15.50's on the average stock.

Like any car, you can't judge by looks alone. You would never guess a Focus could run 12's or quicker, but some do. The same goes for Mustangs, some are slow, some are not slow............acutally very far from slow.

This isnt an entirely true statement..... depends on just how much boost he's running, if he has an LSD or not, the qualilty of the turbo and the tune.... way too many factors just to throw out a stupid, uninformed statement like that.

My 88 5.0 with shorty headers, offroad xpipe, mac catback with no tailpipes, 70mm throttle body, and 4.10 gears ran a 13.2 in the 1/4 on street tires and a stock engine with 200k miles on it. I put some fully reabuilt cobra gt40 iron heads on and it ran a 12.9 on the same tires and same 200k shortblock. This was with a stock 5 speed tranny aswell.

5.0s are slow as balls with stock gears. Throw some 3.73s or 4.10s in and its a completely different car. A completely bone stock 5 speed 5.0 with 4.10 gears is a high to mid 13 second car depending on the driver
