Car: 02 Focus SVT
Mods: Koni shocks, front swaybar Class: ST Region: Alberta Solo Association I bought this car in the fall as a winter beater but think its gonna replace the turbo miata as my autox car also, come next season. the PO had great success with the car and placed 5th in HS at the US Nats this year. Im sure my lack of talent means it'll never acheive that level of success again. I have a few mods planned for it over the winter but nothing major. 15x7.5" 4x108 +40 Rota Slipstreams flat black 'Kooks rs-3 225/45/15 camber plates SCT pro racer, tuned Any feedback is appreciated! |

Make sure 15" slips work on svt brakes...I think that may be an issue.

We test fit my 45 offset slips on a friends '02 SVT, and there was about a 1/16" of clearance between the caliper and wheel. The extra 5mm of offset should be good. If not, you can do a little "polishing" on the caliper to get a little extra piece of mind. Edit... wait, this is the actual car that was 5th at nationals... details on the car please?!? Is it a low option car without heated seats, sunroof etc? What front sway bar? Inquiring minds must know. I would keep it in HS, I think the SVT can get it done in this class.

If the clearance is too tight, I'll either put on a 5mm spacer on the front or take a small amount off the caliper. either way, I'll make it work. Does anyone have pics of an SVTF with 225/45/15's on? I dont want too much wheel gap and might put on some different springs.
Yep, this is it. it's a low optioned car, no sunroof, heated heats or traction control. I'll get back to you on what front swaybar is on it. I agree that the SVTF can get it done in HS as it was proven in the summer. The reason why I'm going to ST is the better competition (50ppl events) and cheaper to run competitively for the long term. I've only got winter tires so i need to buy street tires anyways, regardless. If i go to HS, I'd end up buying streets and Hoosiers. |

I checked out the front swaybar and I'm sure it's the 24mm H&R. I'm waiting for a response back from the PO to confirm though.
