First time 1/8ths in my SVT.

no engine mods, with spare tire, back seat and my fat ass:


fastest time was:

60' - 2.399
330- 6.795
1/8 - 10.355
mph 68.88

had a 10.5, 10.9, and some rubbish when i didnt launch right, but all in all, it was fun.

Not bad for stock motor at stock weight. If you can get that 60ft down to a 2.1-2.2 then you should see a 9.9 no problem.

I was there and Richard even let me use his SVT wheels and tires on my car, although I did better on mine. Fun night!

Yeah, finding traction at the track was the main problem i ran into. out on the street, i have to rev to 2500-3000 and pop the clutch to break loose, but i was breaking loose at 1500-1700 range at the track.

I think its that water, the first time, my tires got a bit wet, and i couldn't find traction until half way through second gear. The last few laps, i tried to aim for the least-wet areas, and i hooked up a bit better, but not as well as i recall being able to on the street.

The track wouldn't let you go around the water box? If you can't avoid it, then right as you pull out of the water box, do a small burnout. Rev it to about 4k and drop the clutch to spin them over good. Not enough to smoke them but enough to get the water off. Street tires actually grip better when they're cooler.

My Focus is my daily driver too but I also have the stang to fall back on if need be. lol I always go by that mentality of push it til it breaks, then build it stronger and push it harder. race it, break it, fix it, repeat! lol

Very nice for an all stock svt!! the svt 1st and 2nd gear make it a tough car to drag race. and yea that water is going to kill you...

damn what did you run against? that 6 sec 1/8th should be close to a high 10 low 11 sec pass.
