Turn it off, that's what I do. I NEVER sit with it running while waiting in the staging lanes unless the line is moving pretty good.

well usually the line is moving pretty good, and when it lows down I usually turn the car off, and just push it.

i was thinking of maybe using a bag of ice near or around the filter with the fans on high, with a drain so the water goes to the ground. then removing it once I get to the staging area

If your that worried then just pop your hood till your next in line, problem solved lol. If you really want to cut down on under hood temps then I recommend using some header wrap on your header, that will help greatly, I also used header wrap on my CAI to help when I used to run one back in the day.

Make a functional hood just for race nights. Get an old hood and cut the sections between the beams on the underside of the hood that sit over the SRI.

Also you can fab up a box to sit around the filter to keep the heat out. Kinda like the steeda for the duratechs.

vented hood or get a CAI. thats one thing i dont miss about my old zetec. the SRI would make it bog down at stoplights in the summer. not the best place for a filter

Shut it down if you sit idle for more than five minutes. I like the vented hood suggestion, doubles as weight reduction also.

You could also put the stock airbox back in. Your biggest variable is going to be trying to launch the thing, not the extra few microns of air the short ram gives you. Throw a K&N in the airbox and you'll be performing nearly identically to the short ram.

true! It obvious the SVT focus isn't a drag car.

Well i had a trade off with the stock SVT airbox and SRI.

So I just left the lower portion of the air box in with the snorkel, and let the SRI sit in the box.

so i would get the low end grunt of the SRI, and the high speed cold air from the snorkel.

I just need to get another S/C.....
