Weird...Walked by a new Lancer, then walked a Civic

So on my home this morning after dropping my kids off at the sitters I am sitting behind what appears to be a stock 2010 Lancer. (Definately not an EVO)
So we make the turn onto the main road and he starts off. I was kind of hoping he would as I have been interested to see how my Focus would match up. I have a CAI, BSD and just installed AR103's and this Lancer pretty much walked away from until 3rd gear where I was able to keep him from gaining any ground. Research says that they have 152 HP stock and I should have 151 HP stock. Are they that much lighter or geared different? Just wondering. Still on the way home a newer Civic wanted to go (not an SI) and I completely walked away from him. No contest. Anyway really curious about the Lancer if anyone has had this happen or has information. Thanks!

Just because its a Lancer didn't mean that it didn't have a turbo.

True, I never did see the front of it to see if it had an intercooler....I would think a turbo would pull even through my third gear however. I seemed to keep pace once I was in 3rd.

that engine info isnt true if it were a brand new lancer GTS. for the 2009(?) model year, the GTS gets the 2.4 liter global engine shared with chrysler and hyundai. it makes 168 HP and 167 lb-ft of torque. if it had dual exhaust and a evo-like front end then it was a ralliart messing with you.

see that's why every focus should come stock with either a little nitrous or a little turbo.

It had only the single tip exhaust, which is the only reason I even considered it. I am not that disappointed I was just surprised.

Not to worry the mods will be coming.....
