Does anyone know if it seats 2 or 3 in the back seats? Say what you will, but I'm a firm believer a car, if it has a back seat, should sit 3.

Pretty sure it will sit 3, its a Focus, not a Mustang.

Jost Captio's answer to me regarding final design on the Paris ST show car.

"We will still capture the enthusiasts opinion on the design, that can still have input on the final execution. ^JC"

NA. transmissions offered 2012 Focus

sedan/hatch
S & SE 5spd manual......standard feature
Powershift ......optional

SE & Titanium Powershift 6spd........standard feature
manual 5spd NOT offered

ST 6spd manual only, no automatic offered.

Jost Capito answer when asked why no Poweshift offered in ST
" No automatic because shifting is part of the excitement of driving performance vehicles"

Ahaaa this makes more sense. PowerShift ISN'T standard on the base levels. I was about to say that if I could pick up a 2012 Focus for the same exact price as a Fiesta SE with PowerShift, it would cut too much into Fiesta sales.

I still think it's a lame copout not to include a dual clutch transmission on the ST. There's absolutely NO excuse. I know purists like having an exclusive manual drivers "club" with performance cars, and that's fine. But it makes more sense to have a transmission that shifts faster than a manual... for you know, a FAST car. They're shooting themselves in the foot by losing sales that way.

Most manufacturers know this and they've been offering it for some time now. Why some people get their panties in a bunch over having that additional OPTION is beyond me. The current Euro Focus RS even uses a dual clutch transmission. So lame. I hope that mentality doesn't carry over to the Fiesta ST. I was hoping Ford would get over those ancient beliefs, but I guess they're not ready to move forward.

The reason why I was wondering whether it seats 2 or 3 in the back is because didn't the latest Focus RS seat only 2 in the back?

Posted via FF Mobile Moose, idk where you got your info from but the RS does NOT have powershift. The reason powershift is not on this car is because it cannot handle that mch torque...yet. Same thing went for VWs DSG, for a while you didnt see it on hgher end more powerful audis because it couldnt handle that much power. Now since its been in development for so long its making its way up the chain, BUT the R8 still doesnt have dsg so iT still has a ways to go.

Hopefully in a few years Ford will of beefed it up to handle the 200 through 280 or 300 ft lbs of tq, as it is now I believe it can only handle around 180. We have alittle while before we see it on a focus st or even a mustang. Man cant wait till its on a mustang...sub 4 second 0-60 for under 35 grand anyone?
