im guessing starting price of $23-24k, then upwards to $28k.
ford is trying to make themselves look like a good quality car rather than cheap and lil nasty.lol
im guessing that the ST will be like $1-2k less than mazda speed 3.
No longer drives a focus, WTF?

There is no way the new ST is going to cost more than $26,995 for the base ST.

I found my next new car me thinks. I'm trading my SVT for one of these bad boys. I love the new design and I adore the subtle and not-so-subtle changes of the ST like the HUGE mouth for sucking in little children playing in the street.

Can't wait to hear what it sounds like in the flesh and to test drive one. I'm also excited that I get a Ford employee D-plan discount too! WOOT! Just hope there are a wide assortment of colors...

Was toying with the idea of buying a Fiesta in 2012. I think I am going to wait and see how this turns out. The Fiesta is a bit small for me to work out of but I could probably manage.

I am a bit skeptical paying more for a car than my loaded Ranger. But this would be tons faster and corner a lot better. But I'm still a little miffed that to replace my 01 Focus today I would have to pay about $5G+ more than I paid in 01 for the same or even less options.

This seems unlike Ford to completly redesign something and let the US have it off the get go. I mean it took 2 years before we saw the first performance Focus. How many years before the US got the Escort GT? No Fiesta ST and I think it's over in Europe right now. It even took a year or so after the new F150 design to give us the Raptor. And Australia has had the Falcon for years that could eat up a Mustang GT untill the HP jump in the 2011 models.

Any word on a Fiesta ST? That might be fun to check out if they do that as well.

And what is better a $28K Mustang V6 at 300HP or the new $28K ST at 250HP?
I'd probably take the ST over the Mustang but......

Posted via FF Mobile People people, stop getting bent outta shape, we dont even know how much itll cost yet. Everyones throwing out 30k, but that is definitely high, at least for a base st. Maybe itll get close once you slap on every availavle option. And no this is not being built to compete with the sti and evo, what is with people and comparig every car to these two over rated cars...flame away, but some of you really seem like you think the evo and sti is the end all gods cars...they really not, especially intheir current forms. Recently they have become over weight and over priced. What sti or evo are you getting for 30k? Sti cost alittle over 34k msrp and the evo costs alittle over 33...and thas base with no where near the options that youll get on the focus ST. Sti is even less of a good buy now that the wrx is basically just as fast and looks exactly the same. Oh and neither of these cars will have an interior close to the quality the Focus will.

St is going to compete with the GTI, MS3 and other 25k sporty cars...not 35k evos and stis. Dont get me wrong, the evo and sti are killer machines, but they are losing their lust imo and are getting fatter and more expensive. And theres alot of competition catching up and also price the same if not cheaper. Years ago these two cars were performance bargins...not so much anymore.

The first thing that went through my head when i first saw the pics was "wtf?", it's definately growing on me though. Alas, i'll have a Cosworth by the time it goes on sale.

And MSRP should be $30K when it comes out. Look at the MSRP for the Fiestas for proof on why this one will be so much. The base model Foci will be 24K-26K MSRP. Also remember that's MSRP, I bet when they come out I can walk out of a dealer at $25K if the MSRP is $30K.
Did you mean a base Focus ST would be $24-$26k MSRP? There's absolutely no way a base Focus S (non-ST) would start at $24k. The base model will start right around $17k. An SE (next trim level up) will probably start at $18.5k - $19k. The base Fiesta S starts $13,995. Ford's pricing has to be competitive, especially nowadays. Ford totally rocks but their not BMW.

It is basically the same platform as an MS3. It can't be too much more than the MS3 in price to stay competitive and also not to step on the toes of the mustang sales. I love the front end, the power sounds right, 4 wheel discs, awesome in a hatch! I can't wait to see if we get the Fiesta ST.
