Bump to my thread, need to figure out how to add pics from my phone, but I've swapped dog bone mounts on the car. Stock aluminum mount replaced with a steel mount with polybushings. Definitely needed to be done, cracks in the stock bushing were starting to approach the center insert. The upgrade should reduce wheel hop, we'll see.

My income/expenses have changed a little bit, so in the near future I hope to have a Kaaz LSD on order. The car really needs an LSD to get any faster.

I've never heard of a KAAZ LSD.

On a side note, I just found this thread and it looks like its been a fun ride!

The Kaaz is the only aftermarket clutch LSD that I know of for the focus. The torsen style work well, but when one wheel is completely off the ground the diff will still be open. The clutch style will still transfer torque to the outside wheel.

Well, the quaife is a torsen style, using worm gears to transfer torque. With one wheel off it will be open too. For every day use a torsen/quaife is good, smooth operation, pretty quiet, and normal maintance. The kaaz can be noisy (what I've read) and requires frequent fluid changes. But its the price paid for max performance.

i've never had my front tires come off the ground but in a hard corner, i would imagine that the front tire starts to get a little light. Which even with the torque biasing starts to limit the amount of power that can be put down mid turn.

Yeah, inside front off once when I was really, really, overdriving the car, not the fastest way around the course for sure.

I'm really referring to the inside wheel becoming light with body roll and sway bar weight transfer. In this condition, as I'm sure we all know, the wheel will spin, hampering the ability to put power down to the tires. With a stock front sway bar and the H&R race springs, the car still has a ton of front end body roll. Is it enough to case a torsen style diff to open up, I'm not sure...

Honestly though, I'm really copying an autoxer on another forum;) He had been using a torsen style, and was planning to switch to the KAAZ, or at least that was the case early this year.

It would seem that you need more springage. H&R Race are nowhere near what a full-on, no excuses SP car should have (IMO-of course)...thinking like double that...and maybe more.
