So if I was going to build a short block for my svt a regular zetec block would work the same? Cause u have to take out the oil squirters when u bore it over right?

yes you have to remove them, a zetec block will be fine, the oil squirters are for lubrication and cooling the pistons.

It depends on how much hp you are looking to get to, I'm looking for 500 maybe more hints the reason why I posted this thread.

If your looking at over 500 then I would seriously think about a CGI block and a good crank

Yes the ZX3 and SVT cranks are 100% the same

Ok, so the only real difference in the bottom end is the rods pistons and oil squirters?

I spent over 5 grand on a CGI short block for my DD SVTF because longevity is my goal for this rare automobile. I plan on running it NA for a while just to see how smooth it will run in real world conditions. One day though I will either go turbo or nitrious to break the 500whp number & use it in my beater bullet green 2000 zx3. Even though I spent a pretty penny on the block, its still a fraction of what people spend on those overpriced, overweight dimeadozen imprezza/lancers out there which hate to lose to a focus. BTW CGI= Carbon Graphite Impregnated which is a webbing process used in the Powerstroke blocks.
