That, however, illustrates my point. The fastest STX cars are barely any faster than the fastest ST cars--if at all. Before I would tackle an STX Focus, I want to "finish" the ST ZX2. We are about 20 events into the car, and are about 1.5-2.0 off of the same Civics mentioned above...I think we have had the car inside of 2 seconds now for the last 4 events here locally.

i've been thinking about this lately..
right now i'm running in ST in my svt (which essentially is STOCK, zts RSB that's it) i'm only running it in ST and not h-stock cause i have the season lead in points for ST.. next year is what i'm really looking forward to. i have to look in the rules on what is allowed in STX, but is the feeling the same in here? would i be better off building for STX? right now the only cars i know in STX that run most of the time are a mini cooper s, elcipse (not sure what model but it has boost..) and the weekly winner mazda MX-6.. oh and a Saabaru lol. with this competition is STX still feasible?

Well, looking from a purely PAX viewpoint, you would have to compensate a .06 index difference switching to STX. But the difference in allowable modifications are:
7.5(ST)-8"(STX) wheels Tires wider than 225 Larger brake rotors and upgraded calipers HFC LSD Sounds like even if you didn't win your class, you should be able to substantially move up in PAX and RAW rankings. |

Sounds like you're getting closer on your ST crusade!
With all the suspension development done, you could take the ZX2 and drop in an ITB breathing Zetec, slap on some 275s and jump to FSP :D

And, yes--FSP would be the natural evolution. I think it would be an excellent car in that class...but until we get a handle on the handling now...
