My original point is to spend 4k on a cgi block and forged crank for 5-600whp it totally unnecessary when people are doing it on the stock stuff. A stock block and crank can be had for less than 300 bucks. Its just like with the hondas people say that you have to have a sleeved block to do over 500whp when people are doing 700whp, shit, I know a guy doing 500whp on a stock 80k mile GSR motor. Oh, and people have done as much as 340whp&wtq on a bone stock zetec. |

Yes and killed the claimed 340 engine first time he tried to do that off the dyno , dyno queens dont count
I did 326HP on the bone stock Zetec back in 2001 and many drove it doing that and I track raced it , whats your point , it isnt safe and it wont last long Yes 500 can and has been done on the stock block and stock crank no one said it couldnt , do you know what the block saddles look like after this , have you blacklighted a crank after this or stress tested one , your giving a lot of info that you cannot back up with anything but he said and got that from some one that use to work there which in my opinion is worthless Tom

The motor may have let go shortly after being at that power but it did make several 1/4 mile passes including a best of 12.7 and was still driven for a short time afterward. Enough of that, that is a whole different subject.
Here is a serious question. Does any one have a pic of the CGI from the bottom showing the main caps and webbing in the block? also, the CGI block is supposed to be 25-30% stronger right? Hp/torque is stress so if it is accepted and plausible that the CGI can handle 1000+ with a forged crank would the standard not handle 700 with a forged crank? That is 30% less, is it not? I found but i would like to be able to see the webbing and stuff better

My engine runs for 3 years...stock block and crankshaft was never any problem with...(Older Zetec engine)
though only runs on drag racing...but it runs more than 100 pass. more than 20 mapping... Only problem was the oil pump.. I do not know exactly how much power....
