Cam gear question

i'm looking to cam gears and i would like to know if i get cam gears and get them tuned if i'll get hp increase with using stock cams. I don't want to get stage 2 cams cause well i want my to idle and what not.

How much you gain, if anything at all, depends on how well your stock cams were tuned from the factory. You may see a lot, you may see nothing. You can always go with a set of stage 1 cams, or get a chip to raise your idle to accomodate stage 2 cams.

The idle on our cars is too low from the factory anyway. Since our stock gears and cams have no key or pin to properly position the gears, it is just sheer luck if you have factory cams that are anywhere close to optimal, or even at 0 degrees!

If you get cam gears and keep your stock camshafts, after you get your cam gears tuned you will see a increase in H.P. and torque.

i think matt sum'd it up well. u should almost always see a gain from dyno tuning them, theres a very slim chance they will come from the factory making the most power...

stage 1s are nice for low end but u might be hungry for some top end later.

we will see i'm jusy curious i have no plans to get cams or gears. I still have to finish my exhaust and then spend almost 2k on suspension, tires, wheels, and brakes. so for me on thign at a time
