1.8 Duratec to 150 bhp?
I've got an 07 Focus with a 1.8 engine in it. It's actually not bad in the power stakes, it can maintain higher motorway speeds with ease and is no slouch generally around town either.
I was wondering however if it's possible to get another 25-30 hp out of it without breaking the bank? I'm assuming air filters, exhaust and engine management for starters but how much would that give me in extra power and can these things be done for like £1000 or less |

Air intake will give you some power increase, and good tuning as well.

or nitrous, otherwise its gonna break the bank, especially if you go turbo.
p.s. you could possibly also get cams and a header, that'd help.

Thanks for the replies - I was looking at K + N's site but their filters seem to be designed for engines 2 ltrs and above? Can they be put into a 1.8 Duratec
