I love driving its so fun...I have many close calls and 1 major accident :) http://www.cardomain.com/id/avengerc4 heres my major accident...now onto the close calls :) I was driving to my uncles house on a nice rainy day...I was doin 30 down a 25 mph road and drove into an intersection...well right after the intersection there is a little sideroad that u can't really see and cars come out of it all the time...WELL I figure I have a green light so I'll go (just like I did in my other accident I really have to only go through yellows) so I go through I'm 1/2way through the intersection and the little road is litterally right after it and this car slides 1/2 way into my lane!!!! well its a 3 lane road 1 turn lane in the middle (of course) and so down the road a little bit right b4 that car came out was a guy who turned on his left turn signal (OH NO!!!!!!) well I HAVE to go into the turn lane or I'd slide right into that mother [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]*er who decided to slide into the middle of the road so as one hand is on the horn I slide (litterally slide cause I jammed the brakes too hard and I don't got antilock) into the turn lane as the guy who put on his turn signal slammed on his brakes and laid on his horn then slid right back into my land nailing my mirror against the trucks mirror...did I say car? oh well...so I slide to a stop get out to make sure the guys mirror is ok, mine almost cracked off cause focus mirrors don't fold in!!!!! :( but hiss folded in and it was all good....the guy that slid into my lane sped off b4 I could kick his car and beat the shit out of him...
next story...I was driving down a 35 mph road in my moms old van when a drunk [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)] in a yukon decided to turn out right in front of me...WELL all I hear is SCREEEEEECH and my horn is on the whole time of course!!! I almost slide into the [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)]...me and 3 of my friends are in the van illegally might I add cause I just got my licence and they jump and and run after the yukon...one of em jumps on the back of it and the drunk guy gets out :) well he tries to throw a punch and plop falls on the ground :) well we go to the nearest house suprisingly someone I went to school with who was watching the whole thing and get the cops called on him as my friends run to my house down the road :) I drove to my hosue and the cops never came over to mine :)
these ARE true just fyi f u don't believe me
then another I was in my cougar (b4 it got totalled) and it was winter...well I was driving in the snow and stopped at a red light...I decide to look in my rear view mirror just cause and I see a stupid ass old guy in his trailblazer sliding toward me cause he can't stop....now keep in mind I'm at a red light....so I have to turn or I'll get jacked cause he tried the hitting the curb to slow down but he bounced off and still came toward me...so I gassed on it and went to turn through the red...well luckily one car was commin my way and he was a little way down the road so he had time to stop as I cut him off, and I nailed a no u-turn sign with my side mirror cause I slid into it and the trailblazer slid through 1./2 the intersection and almost slid into the car that was behind me and almost hit me....
I'll stop here although I do have more...I hate the drivers around here!!!!!!!! ARG!!!

I'm not going to have an accident,

um.... the very definition of an accident means you won't see it coming fast enough to avoid!! I hope your never in an accident, but never say never!!

My close call that raised the pucker factor by the 100's was when I was stopped feet down on my murdercycle waiting for a car to make a left. All of a sudden I hear locked up tires behind me... look in the rear view and saw nothing but grill. Luckily the guy swerved and missed me, but scared the crap out of my and I almost dropped the bike. I regaind composure, caught up to the guy and it was a 60-70 yr old drunk guy. I wanted to beat his ass so bad. Took awhile to get the stains off the seat!

I also forgot the one time I was in my focus I was driving home from my uncles...well I was followin a chevy truckl at 50 mph on a rainy road....well I saw him take this turn at about 45 so I took it at the same speed cause I'm a car hes a truck if he wonn't fishtail I won't....well my sub box nailed the side of my car and whack, I slid off the side of a road down an imbankment into a guys yard who was on his porch by the way, driving through his obstical course of trees and downed branches cause it was raining hard, onto his driveway and out onto the road again :) woulda stopped buit since he was on the porch I just kept goin :))))

This was not in my focus (though I've had some close calls in it, but nothing too memorable) but in my Toyota Paseo (MTX) I was driving it the first weekend that I got it and was on my way back from a party one night (was not drinking) in a part of the county that I wasn't familiar with. So, instead of taking the right turn to get back on the highway, I took a left turn, and was going about 55 down a road I didn't know. Well, I was going so fast that I didn't notice that the road turned to gravel, and out of nowhere I noticed I was heading straight for a huge boulder. I slammed on the brakes (not used to the MTX, so I didn't even push in the clutch) and my friend and I were screaming at the top of our lungs. I lifted the e-brake and we slid sideways and stopped literally an inch from the boulder. Had I hit it we both probably would've died (it was bigger than my car, more like a wall than a boulder). I started crying and swore I would never drive again, but I ended up calming down after having a banana milkshake at IHOP (just a plug for the yummies). From that point on, I started driving 35 mph tops on roads that I do not know.

gthang,

Heya, I know exactly where you mean, the Taconic is a deathtrap, pure and simple :)

Anyways, last Saturday night I was coming home from work on the Palisades Parkway (taconic's twin sister that isnt quite as deadly for those not from around here) and was approaching the end of the parkway where it comes to a circle. This is where I usually start slowing down and relaxing a bit more, the stretch before it is always a dangerous deer area and my last car (96 escort) got broadsided by one back in '99 there. I switched off my high-beams and began to slow down as i rounded the curve. Suddenly, there is a deer standing over 6ft tall in the middle of the road. Thank god the focus can turn, cause I yanked the wheel real hard on my ZX3 and she turned on a dime and I barely missed the damn thing which never moved, just stared at me.
