No. You cannot do this as the tire is balanced on each side of the rim. You will either have to put the weights back on the outside of the rim or have the stick-on weights installed on the inside of the rim.

about how much did this all cost. the 4 cans of paint, prep and such?
would i do the same with the 16" stock silver alloy rims?
im gonna go with black too

I posted these pics in another thread but thought I would add them here to for people who were considering painting their rims. These are the stock rims that came on my SES painted gloss black, and they actually get complements all the time, lol.

If the original poster is still around, I would like to ask that he post an update on how the wheels are holding up. I want to paint an old set of wheels, but won't do it if they are going to peel or flake a couple of years down the road.

out of all the other wheel projects I've seen lately, this is by far one of the absolutely. I just have a question for you. did you have stock Ford Focus ZX3 and then put SVT wheels on? I thought old stock ZX3 rims were 15 inch, and SVT wheels were 17 inch?

Anyone have a good idea of how far to paint past the front of the rim? I certainly want to cover all of the visible portion, plus go a bit further to prevent flaking at the edges, but will going too far interfere with getting a good seal when the tires are mounted?
