03 SVT sway bar hitting body...need suggestions

Yeah Mike (b16) brought that up awhile ago but also incorporating washers cut from a milk carton.

I noticed on the Eibach front sways they have welded in rings to hold the bushings in place.

I think I am having the same problem. Anyone have pictures of where to put these hose clamps?

I just put the clamps as close to the sway bar bushings as I could get them on the inside of both of them, after making sure that the bar was centered. If you still have the stock bushings you will probably have to loosen up the brackets in order to move the bar to center it. The hose clamps are still working for me though... I have had 0 issues since I put them on.

just to clarify, did your car make a "clunk" sound if you hit a decent sized bump in the road even though you weren't turning as well as when you were turning? If not, I may have a different problem but I did notice my car started making these noises after I lowered my car (Eibach Sport-lines).

If it shifted far enough it would clunk in a straight line, but it was more severe for me in a left hand turn... even just a slight left turn if I hit a bump it would clunk.

OK everyone, I know this is an old thread, but this problem seems to be unresolved. and I have been dealing with it for a long time. The banging when making a hard left turn caused by the stabilizer bar when hitting even a slight bump at spead because it has shifted to the left. WTF? I need a solution. I have searched but found no answers. I am sure many SVTF owners have had this problem, please advise.

Yeah, i'm having the same problem. With stock struts and springs, i hit a bump and start praying that my hock towers dont come off!
With FRPP springs, its even worse. Its a new set of shocks/struts from Tousley ford. But i did notice my sway bar on passenger side hitting the body. I have a 1/4" dent in the unibody, by the spot weld.

I did measure few sway bar links and there are some longer and shorter. I'm gonna try longer to bring the bar lower, but if that wont help, then i'll post it on craigslist and find myself a different car because its just impossible to drie this thing and nobody has a solution either...

Have you made sure it is centered in the bushings? The sway bar can shift to one side and cause it to hit the subframe of the car.

It turns out that the sway bar has moved a whole inch to the left and the thread from the end link was hitting the body when heavy spring compression came from a road bump.

Its a heavy pain to loosen the sway bar to get it centered, but i did it and its time to test it out on stock springs first.

Good to know! Make sure you secure it so it can't shift again and cause more problems for you.
