If your looking for Track Times look for the thread of times from FocusFest 2008, I know he did rather well there but I don't remember his times.

ok i just bought me a cosworth bsd for 20 bucks to my door. and i was wondering how this is doing for everyone? my st only has 40k miles on it. lil nervous about loosing my power train warranty lol.

after reading this i do not think it would cause anything or any problems just thought i would ask lol

Don't worry. The rangers have the exact same motor minus the balance shafts. Been running mine for roughly 40k without problems.

It shouldn't take very long. The hardest part is just keeping track of which bolts go where in the oil pan as there are a couple different sizes. Other than that its just dropping the pan and deleting the thing.

did you ever get the baffle kit? that would make sense to get it to be safe since i think i may get into autox a lot more

I took mine out and I hate the vibrations now so come oil change time back in it goes. Granted this may help with response on a N/A vehicle, but when F/I you dont feel a differance just alot of vibrations.

Good luck re-installing the balance shaft assembly. Make sure its properly aligned.

i know what a focus feels like with all of the mounts since my brother had a eap svt with them and also a turbo. the vibrations will be just like that then?

Its really subjective. When I deleted mine I had all stock mounts in and yeah you feel some vibrations but its not horrible IMO. With the dogbone mount it gets a bit more but still fine. Forget about it if you have all three poly mounts. It literally was shaking my dash apart so I swapped the poly passenger mount for stock and it was fine again.

And I got a baffle kit when I installed mine. Works fine as far as I know.

And gonefhsn, you do know the balance shaft has to be properly lined up with the crank right? Just like timing cams to the bottom of the motor, the balance shaft is the same way. There are directions somewhere but i forget where.
