damn you blow a few motors

No no no I don't blow motors it's the transmissions that crap out

. Blew the spider gears in my diff on the last one. That was at the last Fun Ford Weekend that was held here in houston and will be the last one since the economy tanked they stopped that series. I wasn't even there 20 mins I teched in and lined up for the first practice run of the day to see where I would be running at. Got alot wheel hop off the line shifted good into second and then at third it felt soft. I knew something was wrong my trap speed was low. Then when I tried to turn off the track BANG! BOOM! CHIRP! when turning. Blew the axles seals out on the drivers side. Sprayed tranny fluid on the track right at where I shifted into 3rd. This was also a week after getting my cam gears dyno tuned. I gained power everywhere! I thought I'd never drive this car again. I was going to trade it in on a mazdaspeed3 or 6 but that never happened so 3 months later threw another tranny it.

The motor never blew but the PO (previous owner) never tq'd the crank pulley down tight enough and that backed out after about 10kmi and was wobbling on the end of the crank. The stock one also acts as a harmonic dampener to help quell vibrations out. Since this was wobbling it must have caused a bad vibration and made it start knocking on cyl. #3.

. Or that's my theory at least. I know the car was heavily abused before I got it. The issue with the motor was before the tran ny blew. I also run pretty good times for what I have too

. Of course this could be driver related

So far the car now has 159,000 mi on it I bought with 52,000mi on it. It's had a rough life but still runs strong which hopefully we will see at the next meet.
