Since when is discussing your displeasure automatically dicatated as being "whining" about something?
Personally,I could care less.
Its not a performance model and thats fine.
I Love my ST and just got a low mile zx3 as well.
If and when the performance model shows up,than I will go to buy.
It's not automatically whining if you say your peace and move on. If you're making a valid point about why you believe we should have a performance model, why it's important to you and moving the discussion forward then you're discussing. If you're just jumping in thread after thread and stating that not having an RS sucks and you're going to sell your car and never buy a Ford again in protest every time the subject is brought up then you're whining, IMO. I don't mean it as a personal attack, but it's not moving the discussion forward.

I just realized that this is deja vu all over again from the '05 and '08 debuts. Hopefully we won't have to actually be forbidden by Tom again to stop trashing the car once people start buying the car and coming on the site.

Before we didnt get an rs for the simple fact that we didnt have the same focus as the rest of the world. Also the taurus sho is the same price as a gt500? Just because something is the same price, performance oriented or not doesnt mean it competes with the other. The mustang is a rwd pony car amd the focus rs is a hot hatchback. And theyll handle and drive totally differently. And it wont compete with the v6 either bc again its a totally different car. People do buy cars for something other the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times.

Dont fret we need to remeber that so far we have an awesomr new mkiii focus with an awesome platform to work with. The car is global and even tho ford will tailor certain models to certain markets thats pretty much tuning and a few things ..they pretty much wanna sell the same cars everywhere. Also we should remeber Team Rs and SVT are run by the same guy and are working together now. Any performance focus or ford that comes out will be created by both teams whether it be an st, svt, or rs. Hell i wouldnt be surprised if we dont get an RS...bc itll be called an svt instead, same car just different badge.
Dammit I read this whole thread hoping to post that very same response and got to the last page and you beat me to it!

Thank you to all the intelligent responses some of you have come up with. For the rest of you......

Lot of excellent information there to read and discuss.

As for the rear legroom comment, notice the backs of the front seats are scalloped and probably add another 2-3 inches of usable legroom without looking like a limo visually.

No TDCI for USA. No Eco-Boost for USA. No manual transmission. Yay streamlined production. Choke on it for not giving us options. As usual, USA= screwed by Ford. It's all about being a good fleet car IMO. Maybe they will wise up by 2012, and we'll have a short chance to enjoy what we simply don't have here before the Mayan gods trample us like cockroaches.

The new engine does seem nice, but I'd like more options- especially the diesels. They just don't seem to want us to have low fuel cost. Freaking electric

You guys are hilariously wrong, they haven't even announced all of the options, or engines that will be available...
